Neustadt-Glewe (dpa/mv) - The police in West Mecklenburg are investigating a driver who is said to have forced a young person to jump off her scooter. The 15-year-old scooter driver was seriously injured in the incident on Saturday in Neustadt-Glewe (Ludwigslust-Parchim), a police spokesman said on Monday. According to initial findings, the driver is said to have got into the oncoming lane with the car. In order to avoid a head-on collision, the scooter rider jumped off her vehicle when she could no longer avoid it. The 36-year-old driver is said to have fled after the collision, but later came back.
The victim was taken to a hospital with arm and leg injuries. A drug test for amphetamines was positive for the driver, it said. Her driver's license was confiscated. She also has to answer for endangering road traffic. No information was given on the extent of the damage.
