One of the largest luxury residential ships in the world is visiting Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. The cruise ship is a kind of floating apartment building for those who can afford it.
Wismar (dpa/mv) - The cruise ship "The World", designed as a luxurious residential ship, entered the port of Wismar from Hamburg on Wednesday. As the port announced, the ship will remain until Friday. According to the operator, there are 165 luxury apartments on board the 43,000 ton and around 200 meter long ship. The ship was launched in 2002 and above all wants to be an alternative for yacht owners who can save themselves the hassle of owning their own ship.
According to industry magazine Boat International, the ship's itinerary is jointly determined by residents three years in advance. Some of the crusaders, who come from 20 different nations, live on board all the time, others only occasionally.
