The onset of rain on frozen ground or icy boardwalks is a danger for visitors and employees," said the wildlife park on Monday. The care of the animals is guaranteed.
Because of the ice warning from the German Weather Service (DWD), the zoo in Rostock remained closed. Throughout Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, starting in the west, an “extensive black ice situation” was expected at the beginning of the week. Rain falling on frozen ground has been gradually forecast from the west for much of the state.
