Bonn (dpa / lnw) - After shots were fired at the car of a 19-year-old in Bonn-Tannenbusch at the end of October, the police arrested three suspects. In the early morning hours of Friday, the police, supported by special forces (SEK) in Cologne and Bonn, searched the homes and whereabouts of the men aged 22 to 29. Because it was assumed that the suspects were armed, SEK officials were also involved in the operation, police and prosecutors said.

Arrest warrants for drug offenses had already been issued against two of the suspects (22, 29). The third man (29) had been arrested for the time being. No one was injured during the measures, it said.

According to the information, evidence and a large amount of cash were seized. Investigations into suspected attempted homicide are ongoing. Due to tactical considerations, no further details on the background and the individual contributions to the crime could be made, it said.

The background: On the night of October 30, an anonymous caller called the Bonn police and said that a car had been shot at. Shortly thereafter, the police actually found a car damaged by several bullet holes at the described location. Officials did not find any signs of injuries to anyone. A 19-year-old, who is said to have been standing in the immediate vicinity of his vehicle when the shot was fired, later appeared at the alleged crime scene. The man known to the police was not injured. According to the police report at the time, there was a description of a suspected murder vehicle from which the shots were said to have been fired.
