North Rhine-Westphalia: ATM blown up in Siegen

Siegen (dpa / lnw) - In a bank branch in Siegen, an ATM was blown up early on Saturday morning. Residents of the bank branch located in a shopping center in the district of Kaan-Marienborn became aware of the crime through a loud detonation and smoke development and alerted the authorities, said the Siegen-Wittgenstein district police. When the first officers arrived at the scene of the crime almost four minutes later, the perpetrators had already fled.

According to the first investigations, two perpetrators came out of the branch after the detonation. Then a black car pulled up. The perpetrators got into the getaway car and sped away at high speed. The perpetrators, who were equipped with hats, dark clothing and headlamps, probably stole cash in their coup, police said. The police were initially unable to provide any information on the amount of the loot.

The store was severely damaged in the blast. To the best of our knowledge, no one was injured.
