North Rhine-Westphalia: Clan crime: More arrest warrants by special prosecutors

Duisburg (dpa / lnw) - More arrest warrants, more procedures: North Rhine-Westphalian special prosecutors in Duisburg took much more action against so-called clan crime in the past year. In 2022, the "local public prosecutors" issued and executed 55 arrest warrants, more than twice as many as in the previous year (27), as the Duisburg public prosecutor said on Sunday. The "Rheinische Post" had previously reported on the balance sheet.

The special investigators group deployed in Duisburg in 2018 to combat clan crime was reportedly increased from two to four prosecutors in March 2022. They initiated 760 procedures last year - 170 more than in 2021. In addition, assets of 3.6 million euros were secured in 2022.

Another team of special prosecutors was deployed in Essen at the beginning of 2019.
