North Rhine-Westphalia: Cologne/Bonn Airport expects significantly more passengers

Cologne (dpa/lnw) - Cologne/Bonn Airport is expecting significantly more passengers in the coming autumn holidays than in the two-week holiday period a year ago. The airport announced on Monday that around 560,000 passengers are expected, which is a quarter more than before. "We are pleased that the positive upward trend is continuing in the autumn holidays," said airport boss Thilo Schmid.

With a view to the continuing tense personnel situation at the security checkpoints and at check-in, the manager said that there could be longer waiting times, especially at peak times. As a rule, check-in opens two and a half to three hours before departure. It is advisable to plan this time for check-in and security at the airport.
