North Rhine-Westphalia: cyclist bites a police officer in the arm

Dinslaken (dpa / lnw) - A drunk cyclist bit a police officer during a traffic check in Dinslaken. The Wesel district police authority announced on Monday that the cyclist had been taken into custody. The 27-year-old is now facing criminal proceedings for, among other things, drunk driving and assaulting police officers.

The cyclist was checked on Saturday because she drove in a serpentine manner and repeatedly got into the lane of oncoming traffic, the police reported. First, the 27-year-old loudly expressed her displeasure with the control. When she was supposed to be taken to the Dinslaken police station on suspicion of drunkenness, she then hit out and bit the forearm of a 23-year-old police officer on the way to the patrol car. The police officer was slightly injured.
