North Rhine-Westphalia: Eight children in the schoolyard probably injured by irritant gas

Morsbach (dpa / lnw) - In the playground of a secondary school in Morsbach (Oberbergischer Kreis), eight children were probably injured by irritant gas. The schoolchildren, aged around 13 and 14, suddenly complained of eye and respiratory problems and nausea on Friday morning. According to the police, based on current investigations, they assume that the complaints were caused by tear gas. Seven children were treated on an outpatient basis by the emergency services, one child came to the hospital for further examinations.

There are currently no indications of possible causes. According to a police spokesman, there had already been a similar incident at the Leonardo da Vinci School two weeks ago, in which ten children were injured by tear gas.
