North Rhine-Westphalia: Escape from the police leads to an accident with six injured

Duisburg (dpa / lnw) - In a car accident near the Duisburg-Meidereich motorway exit, six people were seriously injured, including a nine-month-old girl. According to a police spokesman, a 31-year-old man wanted to flee a police check on Saturday evening, accelerated his car and drove into an intersection without paying attention to the red light. The man's car crashed sideways into a car driving through the intersection. The driver who caused the accident, his two passengers and the three occupants of the other vehicle were seriously injured and taken to the hospital. According to the police, the 31-year-old was under the influence of alcohol and drugs and did not have a valid driver's license.
