North Rhine-Westphalia: Three young people are injured on a motorcycle ride

Pulheim (dpa / lnw) - Three young people collided with a car during a motorcycle jaunt in Pulheim (Rhein-Erft district) and some were seriously injured. The young people were not wearing helmets, the police said. The 14-year-old driver of the light motorcycle ignored a red light at an intersection early Sunday morning and crashed into the car of a 30-year-old, the police said. The teenager and a passenger of the same age were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Another passenger aged 13 was treated as an outpatient.

A blood sample was taken from the 14-year-old driver at the hospital because he is said to have been under the influence of alcohol and drugs. A bag of cannabis was found on him. The young people are now facing a procedure for, among other things, endangering road traffic, negligent bodily harm and driving without a license.
