Stolberg (dpa / lnw) - After the death of a 39-year-old man in Stolberg near Aachen, a suspect was arrested. The body of the 39-year-old was discovered in his apartment on Sunday, said a spokeswoman for the Aachen public prosecutor's office on Tuesday when asked.
As the autopsy confirmed, the man was the victim of a violent crime and died as a result of "sharp violence". Police officers were called to an apartment building on Sunday and found the man's body in the man's apartment.
For tactical reasons, public prosecutor Anna Kraft did not want to say what brought the investigators to the track of the person arrested in Aachen on Tuesday and what implicates him. It is also not yet clear whether an arrest warrant will be applied for against the man.
Various items were found in the apartment. It is still being investigated whether the murder weapon is among them. The motive for the crime is also unclear. The "Aachener Zeitung" had previously reported on the arrest.
