Soest (dpa / lnw) - A motorcyclist was seriously injured during a prohibited overtaking maneuver on the Hammer Landstrasse near Soest. The 62-year-old tried to overtake a tractor with a trailer with his machine just before a junction on Saturday afternoon, the police said. Accordingly, the motorcycle collided with the tractor when the agricultural machine turned left to turn. According to police, there was a solid line down the middle of the street. The motorcycle was then thrown into an adjacent field.
The seriously injured biker was taken to a hospital. There were also twelve people on the tractor for transport, some of whom were in shock after the accident and were cared for by a pastor from the fire brigade. The motorcycle was secured.
