Cologne (dpa / lnw) - Due to maintenance work, drivers on the A1 on Wednesday night around the Cologne-Lövenich tunnel must be prepared for detours. The Autobahn is therefore closed in both directions between the Frechen and Cologne-Bocklemünd junctions, as Autobahn GmbH announced on Tuesday. In addition, it is not possible to drive onto the A1 in the direction of Koblenz at the Cologne-Bocklemünd and Cologne-Lövenich junctions. In the direction of Dortmund, it is not possible to drive up from the Frechen junction at the Köln-Lövenich junction. In addition, the connections from the A4 to the A1 are blocked in this direction.
The closures were due to begin at 9pm on Tuesday evening and are expected to last until 5am on Wednesday morning. According to Autobahn GmbH, detours are signposted, and long-distance traffic should be avoided via the A3 and A4.
