North Rhine-Westphalia: Summer tires: Two people seriously injured in the accident

Duisburg (dpa / lnw) - In an accident in Duisburg on Saturday night, two people were seriously injured - their vehicle was on summer tires despite the wintry road conditions. According to the police, the 21-year-old driver had lost control of his electric car in a right-hand bend in the Beeck district, probably due to excessive speed. It slammed against a curb and a lamppost. The impact was so strong that a door and a rear wheel were ripped off. The car only came to a stop about 40 meters away. According to the information, the debris of the completely destroyed car was spread over a distance of around 200 meters. The driver and his passenger were taken to various hospitals by ambulance.
