Essen (dpa / lnw) - Several trains ran over gravel stones placed on the tracks in Essen. No one was injured, as the federal police announced on Sunday. Three train drivers reported the obstacles in both directions to the federal police on Friday afternoon. According to the authorities, remains of the stones and traces of abrasion were then found over a length of around 200 meters. The railway line was immediately closed and reopened an hour later. The police initiated an investigation into dangerous interventions in rail traffic. There were initially no indications of suspects, as was announced on Sunday. The police are looking for witnesses. The incident happened near Essen Zollverein Nord station.
