North Rhine-Westphalia: Vaillant receives a 120 million euro loan

Remscheid/Luxemburg (dpa/lnw) - The heating technology company Vaillant receives a loan of 120 million euros from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for the development of climate-friendly heating systems. Vaillant wants to become a leading provider of environmentally friendly heat pumps, explained the managing director of finance and services, Stefan Borchers, according to a statement on Wednesday. The loan gives you even more financial leeway "to accelerate our transformation." In the last two financial years, Vaillant has already increased its sales of heat pumps by more than 50 percent.

The money should primarily flow into projects at the group's headquarters in Remscheid. However, investments are also planned in other EU countries such as France, Spain and Slovakia. The family business, founded in 1874, claims to be the world market leader in central heating. In 2021, the group with 16,000 employees achieved sales of around 3.3 billion euros.
