North Rhine-Westphalia: WDR program "Rockpalast" should get its own stamp

Cologne (dpa / lnw) - The cult WDR music program "Rockpalast" will soon adorn its own stamp. Deutsche Post plans to release the so-called postage stamp worth 1.60 euros with the "Rockpalast" logo on November 2nd, the broadcaster announced on Thursday in Cologne. "The stamp is an honor for us," said the editor responsible, Peter Sommer. It is "sticky proof" that the "Rockpalast" is also of great importance outside of WDR.

The "Rockpalast" has been on WDR television since the 1970s. The big rock nights, in which megastars like The Who, The Kinks or Rage Against the Machine performed - became legendary - transmitted directly into the living rooms of the nation. Music under the "Rockpalast" brand is still available on WDR today.

The stamp is to be part of the "German Television Legends" series, in which other programs such as "Police call 110" have already been immortalized.
