After two years of Covid disruption, Paolo Nutini from Scotland will headline the festival's main stage.

Due to the pandemic, the annual TRNSMT festival at Glasgow Green was canceled in 2020 and moved to mid-September 2017.

The music festival will open on Friday and feature headline sets by Lewis Capaldi and The Strokes.

Each of the three days will be attended by approximately 50,000 people.

Organisers advised attendees not to drive their car because there is no parking and the roads around will be closed.

They warned that last-minute cancellations could cause delays in rail travel and severely limit the number of services available across Scotland.

This is because of a temporary schedule currently in place following a dispute over pay. It could be difficult for some to get a train to the festival's end.

Fans will not be able to leave the festival if there are no trains on Sunday night when Lewis Capaldi, Scots singer-songwriter, closes it at 23:00.

The inaugural TRNSMT festival was held over three days in July 2017. It was widely regarded as a replacement to T in The Park, which was operated in the same time slot for 23 years and was operated in July 2017.

TRNSMT was delayed in 2020 due to Covid, and again in July 2017 because of concerns about the spread of the virus.

It was eventually held between 10 and 12 September 2021.

This year's lineup includes Nile Rodgers, Sam Fender, Sam Fender, and Chic, Foals and Fontaines D.C., and Wolf Alice.

Paolo Nutini, a Paisley-born musician, will headline the Friday night's show.

The Strokes are a New York-based rock band whose hits include Is it?. Lewis Capaldi will close the show on Sunday.
