Saxony-Anhalt: 60-year-old drives against a tree and dies

Genzien (dpa/sa) - A 60-year-old drove his car into a tree between the towns of Genzien and Arendsee in the Altmark district of Salzwedel and died. The man was on the village road on Monday morning when he left the road about a kilometer behind the end of Genzien for reasons that have not yet been clarified and hit the tree, the police said on Monday. The 60-year-old succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. The road was closed for several hours as part of the clean-up work.
