Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - According to the Ministry of the Interior, around 7,800 people took to the streets in Saxony-Anhalt on Monday against high inflation, the Ukraine war and the energy policy of the federal government. A ministry spokeswoman said on Tuesday that there had been a total of 43 meetings across the country. This means that the number of participants continues to decline. Last week, the police counted around 7,900 demonstrators.
"The police initiated a nationwide investigation on suspicion of incitement to hatred," the spokeswoman continued. Otherwise, the events remained largely undisturbed.
