Saxony-Anhalt: Builders are increasingly moving away from gas heating

Halle (dpa/sa) - Builders in Saxony-Anhalt are planning less and less gas for heating energy. In the first half of 2022, only 11.4 percent of the building permits for new residential buildings provided for gas heating, the State Statistical Office announced in Halle on Tuesday. In the same period of the previous year, the proportion was still 20.4 percent. In 2015, gas heating was still planned for the majority of new residential buildings. Instead, according to the information, there is now a trend towards the use of heat pumps using environmental, geothermal and solar thermal energy. In the first half of this year they would have accounted for 82.3 percent.
