Saxony-Anhalt: child plays with a lighter and lights the carpet

Eisleben (dpa/sa) - A fire in an apartment building in Eisleben (Mansfeld-Südharz district) caused property damage of 10,000 euros. No one was injured, police said on Thursday. According to initial findings, a child had been playing with a lighter in the house on Wednesday afternoon. A carpet caught fire. Family members could no longer control the fire. The fire brigade was involved in the extinguishing work with around 30 forces. According to the police, the occupants of the house were brought to safety in time before the flames.
