Halle (dpa/sa) - The regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency looks at the situation of the labor market in Saxony-Anhalt today (10.00 a.m.). Labor market experts expect unemployment to fall slightly in February. The harbingers of the spring revival are already being felt, the reasoning was given. The job announcements are therefore increasing.
Outdoor work is sometimes suspended during the winter months. Unemployment therefore rises slightly seasonally at the end of the year and at the beginning of the year. The unemployment rate in Saxony-Anhalt was 7.8 percent in January and 7.3 percent in December. According to the regional directorate in Saxony-Anhalt, 85,700 were registered as unemployed in January in the middle of the month.
