Halle (dpa/sa) - The retail trade in Saxony-Anhalt turned over 1.7 percent less last year - adjusted for the price increase. Depending on the industry, however, the developments are very different, the State Statistical Office announced on Thursday in Halle. Real sales in the food sector have even fallen by 6.6 percent. Companies that did not sell groceries, on the other hand, made a real sales increase of 3.3 percent between January and December. Sales at gas stations increased the most. According to the information, an increase of 8.6 percent was recorded there. According to the provisional statistics, the retail trade in Saxony-Anhalt achieved a nominal increase in sales of 7.6 percent, including the sharp rise in consumer prices.
