Saxony-Anhalt: Man beats children and robs their pocket money

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - A young man attacked two children aged 12 and 13 in Magdeburg. He initially accused them on Saturday of letting the air out of his bicycle tire, a police spokesman said on Sunday. Shortly thereafter, he slapped one of the children in the face and demanded cash from the other child. Out of fear, they eventually handed over a small amount of cash, police said. The man then damaged one of the children's bicycles and disappeared. The police are now looking for the man who, according to the children, is said to be around 20 years old.
