Magdeburg/Berlin (dpa/sa) - 14 nominees from Saxony-Anhalt are in the running for the German Engagement Award. According to the organizers on Monday, these include, for example, the association Wir sucht hin e. V. from Magdeburg, the Mayor's Court Salzwedel in the Altmark and the German Ju-Jutsu Association based in Zeitz. Five jury prizes and one audience prize will be awarded. According to the information, a total of 463 nominees have the chance to be rewarded with the award this year. The award ceremony is planned for December 1st in Berlin, it said.
The German Engagement Award is intended to strengthen the culture of recognition and inspire more people to volunteer. The award has existed since 2009.
