Saxony-Anhalt: Seven years of the Saxony-Anhalt Engagement Fund

Halle/Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - From language cafés for refugees to neighborhood get-togethers to commitment in the pandemic: Saxony-Anhalt has supported 500 projects through its commitment fund over the past seven years. The Ministry of Social Affairs announced on Monday in Magdeburg that 700,000 euros had been granted from the Altmark to the Burgenland district as funding.

"Seven years of commitment funds are all about living solidarity. 500 initiatives and projects that are committed to cohesion in Saxony-Anhalt received funding," said State Secretary for Social Affairs Susi Möbbeck. The 500th decision should go to the Sprachbrücke association in Halle this Wednesday. He has been campaigning for the integration of Syrian and Afghan women for many years. The focus is currently on Ukrainian refugees.
