Saxony: Concert to commemorate the Battle of the Nations of 1813 in Leipzig

Leipzig (dpa/sn) - To commemorate the Battle of the Nations in 1813, the Monument Choir and the Leipzig Symphony Orchestra are giving a concert in the Monument to the Battle of the Nations. On October 16, the two renowned ensembles, conducted by Philipp Goldmann, performed the Requiem by British composer John Rutter, explained the director of the memorial choir, Alexander Hiller, on Thursday. The concert this year should also be about the hope for peace and reconciliation in the Ukraine soon, it said.
