Kamenz (dpa/sn) - The manufacturers of food, animal feed and beverages in Saxony achieved higher sales in the first ten months of this year compared to the same period last year. The more than 80 companies in the Free State with around 13,500 employees generated 4.9 billion euros, as reported by the State Statistical Office in Kamenz on Wednesday. This is 25 percent more than in the same period in 2021. Almost a fifth of the total turnover was generated abroad.
Higher consumer prices for groceries contributed to the higher sales. However, it must be taken into account that producer prices have also risen significantly compared to 2021, the office said.
