Saxony: Man hit by metal bars on company premises

Brand Erbisdorf (dpa/sn) - On a company premises in Brand-Erbisdorf (Middle Saxony district), a man was hit by a bundle of metal bars and seriously injured. The bundle, weighing around 300 kilograms, was to be loaded with a forklift on Wednesday morning, the police said. Accordingly, the bars slipped from the forklift. The 51-year-old man was taken to a hospital. The occupational safety department in the Saxony State Directorate is investigating how the accident at work south of Freiberg could have happened.
