Saxony: Memorial week in Leipzig on the anniversary of the Russian invasion

Leipzig (dpa/sn) - With a commemoration week on the anniversary of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, solidarity with the attacked country should be shown in Leipzig. Exhibitions, light events, film screenings, a municipal commemoration and discussions are planned from February 20th to 27th, as the city announced on Thursday. The beginning and end are prayers for peace in the Nikolaikirche. Mayor Burkhard Jung (SPD) wants to give a greeting on February 20th. The campaign week is being prepared by an alliance of clubs and initiatives and the city of Leipzig.
