Dresden/Chemnitz (dpa/sn) - After dozens of guests in a Dresden youth hostel fell ill with diarrhea and vomiting, the cause has now been determined. The initial suspicion of a norovirus brought in from outside has now been confirmed in the laboratory by the health department, the state association of the German Youth Hostel Association announced on Friday. All guest groups were informed about this, it said.
43 guests suddenly fell ill in the hostel on Tuesday evening. Ten emergency services from the fire brigade and rescue service supplied those affected. According to the fire department, one person was taken to the hospital. According to the youth hostel association, the house is cleaned at the weekend according to the regulations of the health department and then starts regular operation.
