Saxony: Parliament honors Green politician Schulz with a minute's silence

Dresden (dpa/sn) - With a minute's silence on Thursday, Saxony's state parliament honored the Green politician Werner Schulz, who had died the day before. State President Matthias Rößler described Schulz as an "independent spirit" and "an impressive person". Werner Schulz was torn from life on November 9th, a day that was so important to him. Schulz, who was born in Zwickau, died unexpectedly on Wednesday at the age of 72 at an event on November 9 at Bellevue Palace in Berlin. From October 1990 to October 2005 he sat for the Greens in the Bundestag.
