Chemnitz (dpa / sn) - In a chase after a suspected car thief, three police officers in the Zwickau district were injured. Her police van went off the road and overturned. Officials from Chemnitz noticed a car on Friday evening whose license plates had been reported as stolen, the police said on Saturday. After a chase on the Autobahn 72 in the direction of Leipzig, the police initially lost sight of the car. It was not rediscovered until near Waldenburg in the district of Zwickau. Numerous patrol cars were called in to assist.
In the accident of the police van, the driver was seriously injured, two other officers suffered minor injuries. For the fugitive, the journey finally ended in a forest path.
