Bautzen (dpa / sn) - In an apartment building in Bautzen, there was a fire twice. As the police announced on Tuesday, a mattress and rubbish on the sixth floor of the house caught fire on Monday evening. The residents of the upper three floors were then evacuated with the help of firefighters and the fire was extinguished. After about an hour, it was possible for the residents to enter the apartments again. A few hours later, the emergency services were called to the house again because it was on fire again in almost the same place. The emergency services managed to extinguish the fire after a short time.
According to the police, it is still unclear how the two fires started. The police are investigating on suspicion of serious arson. A total of 42 firefighters and ten fire engines were deployed. The resulting property damage amounts to around 30,000 euros.
