Scottish artists are at the top of the singles and album charts.

DJ duo LF System have a number-one single with Afraid to Feel. Paolo Nutini’s latest album Last Night In The Bittersweet is at the top of the album charts.

This is the first time that a Scottish chart double was achieved since Tom Walker & Lewis Capaldi topped both the singles and album charts in March 2019.

Paisley-born Nutini is now number one with his eighth music release.

Conor Larkman of LF System and Sean Finnigan from LF System viewed their single climb up the charts before they took the number one spot from Kate Bush.

LF System saw Afraid to Feel viral on TikTok in its initial stages and has seen it steadily climb over the past five weeks.

Larkman said to the Official Charts, "It feels as one big practical joke."

"To think that we made it in 2019, and were still playing it in clubs, and now it's on the charts. It's mad."

Larkman and Finnigan first met at the Fly club, Edinburgh, two years ago.

Both continued to work at their jobs, Larkman being a roofer and Finnegan as a garage worker - up until two months ago.

It's all happened so quickly. It's surreal and yet so beautiful," Finnegan said.

Paolo Nutini (35), was previously at the top of the album charts in 2009 with Sunny Side Up, and again in 2014 with Caustic Love.

His debut album These Streets reached number three in 2006.

After its release on July 1, Last Night In The Bittersweet rose to the top of the charts.

Martin Talbot, Chief Executive of the Official Charts Company stated: "Scotland's musical legacy spans the 70 years of Official Charts, and to see Paolo & LF add to it in 2022 is incredible to see."
