Erfurt (dpa/th) - According to the Thuringian hotel and restaurant association Dehoga, the sharp rise in energy costs has an impact on guests and businesses. "The prices for overnight stays will definitely increase in Thuringia," explains Dehoga Managing Director Dirk Ellinger in Erfurt. The current developments once again presented many companies with existential challenges after the corona pandemic. There are currently no major upheavals in the hotel industry. But that will probably change in the coming months.
"We are currently primarily trying to optimize all processes in the background and to ensure that our guests do not notice anything about the developments," explains Marcel Gerber from Aktiv
According to Dehoga, almost 600 companies had to close between 2019 and 2020 in the Free State.
