North Rhine-Westphalia: Son critically injures father and flees

Witten (dpa / lnw) - A 25-year-old man fatally injured his father on Friday evening in Witten (Ennepe-Ruhr district). According to initial police findings, there was probably a dispute in which the son attacked the 55-year-old father with a previously unknown object. The man was taken to the hospital, where his condition stabilized again. The 25-year-old fled the scene of the crime, but was arrested by the police that same evening. A search helicopter and a special unit were deployed. More background to the fact was not known on Saturday night. The public prosecutor's office and homicide commission have started the investigation.
