Thuringia: Figures for the Thuringian labor market are published

Erfurt (dpa/th) - The regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency will provide information on Friday (10 a.m.) about the development of the Thuringian labor market in September. Unemployment had risen in August - 61,500 women and men were without a job. The unemployment rate increased from 5.4 percent to 5.6 percent. In Germany, experts expect a stable labor market despite the economic downturn and point to the high demand for labour. The Ifo Institute and other economic researchers expect that companies will try to keep their employees despite the recession.
