Erfurt (dpa / th) - A neglected dog was rescued by police officers from an Erfurt apartment. As the police said on Sunday, a witness became aware of the dog because it howled for several days and called the police on Friday evening. The tenant of the apartment could not be reached when the officers arrived, so the officers climbed onto scaffolding and saw the neglected dog through the balcony window. Because of the condition of the dog, called firefighters opened the apartment door and freed the animal. The mongrel was then cared for and taken to an animal shelter.
According to the information, it is still unclear why the dog spent several days alone in the apartment.
