Thuringia: Police suspect arson in a forest fire

Auma-Weidatal (dpa/th) - The police are investigating after a forest fire in Auma-Weidatal (Greiz district) because of arson. Around 2,500 square meters of forest went up in flames on Monday, the police said on Tuesday. Despite a large-scale operation by the fire brigade, the fire in the forest between Auma and Wöhlsdorf could only be brought under control late in the evening. Nevertheless, there are still individual embers and the fire brigade is putting up a fire watch. The police are now looking for possible witnesses.
