Thuringia: Thousands of tradespeople gave up in Thuringia in 2022

Erfurt (dpa/th) - Thousands of traders gave up in Thuringia last year, and the number of business deregistrations exceeded the number of registrations. This emerges from figures from the State Statistical Office in Erfurt on Tuesday. According to this, last year the 10,814 registrations were offset by a total of 11,056 business deregistrations. In 2021 there was an inverse relationship.

According to the figures from the State Office, business deregistrations were 240 or 2.2 percent above the level of 2021. There were 217 fewer registrations than in 2021 - a decrease of two percent. For every 100 registrations last year, there were 102 cancellations.

As in previous years, the statistics show a lot of movement in registrations and deregistrations in the motor vehicle trade, which includes not only car dealers but also workshops, caretaker and garden service providers or travel agencies.

According to the state office, the main reason for the approximately 11,000 business deregistrations was the complete abandonment of the business in 80 percent of the cases. Among them were 6597 small businesses and part-time businesses and 2247 businesses with greater economic substance.
