Thuringia: "wtf?" and "Erlkönig": young productions by school groups

Erfurt (dpa/th) - 135 students in grades 7 to 12 from ten Thuringian school theater groups will demonstrate their skills from Monday to Wednesday. As part of the 30th Thuringian School Theater Days, groups from grammar schools as well as comprehensive, community and regular schools present their productions - and thus age-appropriate perspectives on old and new topics - in the Erfurt children's and youth theater "die Schotte". These include "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "Erlkönigs Reich", "Romeo and Juliet freely adapted from Shakespeare" as well as productions entitled "wtf?" or "Poems in Loops".

The groups come from Bad Frankenhausen, Erfurt, Jena, Sömmerda, Vacha, Weimar and Wolkramshausen. All ten participating teams had previously applied for the school theater prize with their productions and won. The sponsorship award of the Sparkassen-Kulturstiftung Hessen-Thüringen is endowed with 1500 euros and is intended to benefit further school theater work.
