Unusual. An American woman finds $36,000 sofa from house clearance

Californian found 36,000 dollars or 33,400 Euros hidden in the cushions of a sofa that was given away free of charge on a classifieds website. She was determined to return the money to her owners.

Vicky Umodu was looking for furniture to furnish her new house and found this sofa. She said, "I just moved into and there is nothing in the house," from her Colton home near Los Angeles.

Vicky Umodu discovered a strange dent in one her cushions when she arrived at her house. There were also several envelopes stuffed with cash that contained thousands of dollars.

"I used to tell my son, "Come, Come!" "Come, come!" I shouted at my son. She said, "I have to call the gentleman."

Vicky Umodu, an example of honesty, contacted the people who gave her the sofa to inform them that she found it and asked them to return the money.

When the family was emptying the home of a relative who had recently died, they replied that they didn't know anything about the origin or presence of the money.

Vicky Umodu was grateful that they gave her more 2000 dollars (more then 1800 euros), which she used to purchase the refrigerator. She assured that she wasn't expecting to receive a penny.
