The main actor for the remake of the film classic "Road House" (1989) with actor Patrick Swayze (1952-2009) has been found. As Amazon has now announced, US star Jake Gyllenhaal (41) will slip into the role of the former professional fighter (UFC), who protects a bar in the Florida Keys from the mafia as a bouncer and makes powerful enemies in the process.

"We are thrilled to be working with Joel, Doug and this amazing cast, led by Jake Gyllenhaal, as we reimagine the classic MGM film as an action-packed adventure for our global audience."

Production on the Amazon Original film begins this month in the Dominican Republic and will be available on Prime Video upon release in more than 240 countries worldwide.
