After a positive corona test: Baerbock cancels his trip abroad

The Foreign Minister is traveling in Pakistan to find out about the situation in Afghanistan, among other things. But a positive corona test thwarts her plans. It is still unclear how and when Baerbock will return to Germany.

After a positive rapid corona test shortly after the start of her visit to Pakistan, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock canceled all other appointments. This was announced by the spokesman for the Federal Foreign Office, Christofer Burger, on the sidelines of the trip to the Pakistani capital Islamabad. Originally, the Green politician wanted to travel to Greece and Turkey after her visit to Pakistan, which was planned until Wednesday.

Burger said that Baerbock realized at lunch that she no longer tasted anything and then did a quick corona test. This was positive. There was a positive corona case in her family on Saturday. But she had little contact with him and has been consistently testing herself ever since. A quick test was still negative on Tuesday morning.

"All other appointments are now canceled," said the spokesman. The spokesman continued to inform about the further procedure for the return journey in the next few hours. At the beginning of her visit to Pakistan, Baerbock was received by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in the morning.
