Politician ranking: Three Greens in the top five

Annalena Baerbock, Winfried Kretschmann and Robert Habeck are among the politicians most trusted by Germans. They only have to share the first five places with two CDU prime ministers.

For the trend barometer, the opinion research institute Forsa regularly asks which politicians the Germans see as "in good hands". Respondents can give their assessment with values from 0 ("not at all in good hands") to 100 ("completely in good hands").

In the current politician ranking, there are three political actors from the Greens and two from the CDU in the top five places: Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (Greens) with 46 trust points, followed by Schleswig-Holstein Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) with 45 and Baden-Württemberg Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens), NRW Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (CDU) and the Green Minister for Economic Affairs Robert Habeck with 44 points each.

The incumbent Chancellor Olaf Scholz comes sixth with 43 points - ahead of SPD leader Lars Klingbeil with 40, the Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder with 39 and Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach (SPD) with 38 points. This is followed by Federal Minister of Finance and FDP leader Christian Lindner and Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser (SPD) with 35 points each with 35 points, CDU leader Friedrich Merz with 33 and Federal Minister of Justice Marco Buschmann (FDP) with 31 points.

Bundestag Vice-President Wolfgang Kubicki from the FDP, Left-wing politician Sahra Wagenknecht, SPD Chairwoman Saskia Esken, Federal Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht (SPD) and Left-wing leader Janine Wissler have fewer than 30 trust points. The AfD bosses Tino Chrupalla and Alice Weidel are below 20 points.

Compared to the last politician ranking in September, trust in the individual political actors has remained largely the same - only 4 of the 20 politicians surveyed changed by 2 points. The result of the current ranking of politicians thus also confirms the tendency observed for all indicators of political sentiment that the assessments and evaluations of the parties and their representatives have largely stabilized and consolidated since September.

As in September, Baerbock, Habeck, Scholz and Söder have the greatest trust among their own supporters with values of 80 or almost 80 points. As in May, July and September, Esken, Lambrecht and Wissler have the least trust among their own supporters. The support of the CSU chairman Söder among the CSU supporters is greater than that of the CDU chairman Merz among the supporters of the CDU.

Politician ranking data was collected from November 30th to December 2nd. Database: 1517 respondents. Statistical error tolerance: /- 3 percentage points.
