After a night in second place, SC Paderborn stormed back to the top of the 2nd Bundesliga with a resounding victory. The East Westphalians played furiously in the 7:2 (5:2) against Holstein Kiel and presented themselves as candidates for promotion. Striker Felix Platte took the lead in the top scorer list with his five and six goals this season (29th/38th).
After five match days, the former first division team already has twelve points and 18 goals - especially at home things are going well: Paderborn already convinced offensively against Karlsruher SC (5:0) and Hannover 96 (4:2), also in the cup coach Lukas Kwasniok's team celebrated a shooting match at 10:0 in Wernigerode. In addition to plate in front of 9641 spectators, Florent Muslija (7th, penalty kick), Julian Justvan (13th), Raphael Obermair (25th), Marvin Pieringer (52nd) and Dennis Srbeny (80th) met. Marcel Franke (7th) and Paul Nebel (14th) gave KSC a 2-0 lead after less than 15 minutes. Jerome Gondorf (43rd) made it 3-0 with a wonderful long-range shot after an exemplary combination. Fabian Schleusener (48'/66') and Tim Breithaupt (78') scored three more goals for Karlsruhe in the second half.
The guests were very self-confident, they let the ball run skillfully and made the space tight. With passes into the interfaces on the offensive, they repeatedly caused danger. After falling behind, SSV Jahn had trouble getting back into the game. The efforts of the Regensburgers could be seen, but they rarely found solutions to embarrass the KSC defense network.
The former German soccer record champion 1. FC Nürnberg was able to break away decisively from the lower table areas. The club won 2-1 (0-1) at SV Sandhausen after a deficit and goals in the second half.
In the 33rd minute, the sand houses took the lead through Bashkim Ajdini.
