The alert was issued on Tuesday, July 5, at 12:30 AM. It was Wednesday, July 6. Firefighters responded to a call for help from Riez, who were responding to a fire in an apartment measuring 50m2 on the third floor of a three-storey house. The house was on the third floor and 20m2 of roofing were also destroyed by the flames.
The building, which is a vacation rental, was being renovated. It was occupied by one couple on the first floor. They were not hurt.
Around twenty firefighters were mobilized from Bras-d'Asse and Manosque as well as Valensole, Valensole, Valensole, Riez. The intervention is ongoing today, with firefighters present to clear the burned materials and prevent the resumption.
